My Story
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be tending olive trees at this phase in my life! It all started when a close friend asked me to start a business with her. After having been a mom for so many years, I was excited for a new challenge. With a background in molecular biology, I had been teaching myself about wine chemistry, and having fun taking sommelier classes. I thought I'd explore selling California wines overseas. Soon after I travelled through California, I was swept away by the spirit of chaparral country and the bucolic Santa Ynez Valley. Long story short: I fell in love with 8 acres of beautiful "olea europaea" and found myself caring for olives rather than grapes. It was up the learning curve, and with some perseverance and kind help, I have brought this limited evoo to the nearby community, and my old homes in New Jersey and New York. My goal is to keep the production small and personalized, sustain the twenty-year-old trees and sell to those who appreciate what a healthy and wonderful olive oil should be.
